GOING THE EXTRA MILE

Our philosophy: If they can't come to us, we go to them.

With the current social distancing measures in Singapore, we can't carry out the usual activities and programmes in our various centres. Our beneficiaries also won't be able to go to our centres to collect their monthly grocery rations and vouchers.

However, our team of volunteers is relentless when it comes to helping. In light of the circuit breaker, they took turns to deliver bags of monthly grocery rations to each and every family supported by Social Health Growth. They travelled from Bukit Merah, to Queenstown, to Zone E, to Punggol, and lastly, to Nee Soon.

If there is a will, there is a way. As long as we can, we will help our beneficiaries to brave through this COVID-19 situation.

In this first ever issue of Social Health Growth's newsletters, we unveil (1) the various ways we will assist our beneficiaries during this tough period, and (2) the specific ways your donation supports one family under us.

We still carry out our financial literacy programme with some modifications.
For instance, we encourage our beneficiaries to sent us their monthly saving
slips, to help them in sustaining good saving habits, especially critical in this
tough period.

We send hardcopies of assignments to our children during this period.
This allows learning to take place, even if these children are unable to
gain access to computers. Our tutors are also constantly in touch with
them to help them with their school work.

Partnering Thrive Psychology Clinic, we offer online counselling sessions for
our beneficiaries on topics like stress management, family relationships,
self-assurance and women empowerment. This helps them to maintain a
healthy mindset in this economic downturn.

I like the food ration distribution. I still recalled in 2020 during pandemic, I helped to distributed food ration and everyone were so impressed by the chairman speech. He helps alot of single mother and low income families. He even teach them how to overcome challenges. I have never had this kind of experienced before. I will continue to do my part for the single mother. Thank you Regards, Yuhui
